Kal Ho Naa Ho is the soundtrack album to the 2003 Hindi film Kal Ho Naa Ho directed by Nikhil Advani, starring Shahrukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta. The soundtrack consists of seven tracks composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and was released on 27 September 2003 by Sony Music.The lyrics were penned by Javed Akhtar. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy won the 2004 National Film Award for Best Music Direction. They also earned the Filmfare Best Music Director Award, IIFA Best Music Director Award, and IIFA Best Background Score Award. Singer Sonu Nigam won the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer, IIFA Best Male Playback Award, and Filmfare Best Male Playback Award for his rendition of the song "Kal Ho Naa Ho". The title track also won the Zee Cine Award Best Track of the Year. Lyricist Javed Akhtar won both IIFA Best Lyricist Award and Filmfare Best Lyricist Award.
