On 30th Oct 2010, Join us for the most Awesome Diwali celebration anywhere in Europe. Yes its the Popular Brent Diwali Celebrations which are visited by more than 60000 people every year. Brent has the highest density of Indian Origin Population anywhere in UK.  The floats, carnival costumes, saris and lights of Brent are getting ready to bring a sparkle to Ealing Road, whilst its South Indian mouthwatering restaurants prepare for one of the largest Diwali celebrations outside of India. Local people created this festival 18 years ago and over the years formed a successful working partnership with Brent Council to organise a unique parade, which tells the Jain, Hindu and sikh Diwali stories.

Programme as follows

Rangoli competition - Shri Sanatan Hindu Mandir on Ealing Road
Be amazed by intricate rangoli designs. To enter bring your creation to the rangoli marquee by 12 noon n the day to be in the running.

Diwali dance programme - Shri Sanatan Hindu Mandir on Ealing Road
2pm – 6pm
Watch traditional Indian dance groups perform on the steps of the stunning new temple that opened this year.

7pm – 8pm
Along Ealing Road to Barham Park Brent Diwali Parade The biggest Diwali parade spectacle outside of India. Bringing the colourful story of Diwali to life, local community groups have been working in partnership with Emergency Exit Arts and Mahogany to create spectacular floats. From the wicked demon Ravana to the love story of Rama and Sita, each element of the story will be animated through the unique use of light and colour to celebrate the powerful messages of Diwali.

8.30pm - Barham Park - Fireworks and laser show
The skies of Barham Park will explode with fireworks and lasers in a thrilling show to end the evening.
