Never seen before or experienced by the A-list stars or media alike, witnessed the most dynamic, interactive and frolicsome Live Video Conference ever to take place, as megastars Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan joined director Vipul Shah to engage with London media in anticipation of the forthcoming Diwali blockbuster release of ‘Action Replayy’.

Media attending this exciting event, which had a live link to the stars, celebrated the true essence of the 70’s – the colourful era during which ‘Action Replayy’ is set – in full, retro-styled fancy dress. Adding a charming and innovative new twist to the traditional format of the Press Conference, media attended in a kaleidoscopic assortment of afro wigs, bellbottom trouser, psychedlic prints and snazzy, oversized sunglasses.

In addition to answering questions about the forthcoming film, the stars and director turned the tables on the media and judged the dancing skills of the attending journalists as they performed the already iconic ‘jhatka’ dance move from the hugely popular song rendition, ‘Zor Ka Jhatka’. The winning performer, as selected by Akshay, Aishwarya and Vipul, was honoured with a very special prize of a personal Meet-and-Greet with superstar Akshay on his next visit to London in February 2011. Spirits were riding high as the stars and journalists exchanged cheeky banter, jokes and anecdotes, celebrating the true essence of the imminent, fun-filled festive season.

Synopsis

‘Kishen’ (Akshay Kumar) and his wife ‘Mala’ (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) have been battling each other throughout 35 years of a deadpan marriage. As a result, their son ‘Bunty’ (Aditya Roy Kapur) has developed an innate phobia to wedlock, much to the dismay of his long-term girlfriend, ‘Tanya’ (Sudeepa Singh). Problems arise when Tanya’s grandfather, Professor Anthony Gonsalves, presents Bunty with an ultimatum – marry Tanya or get out of her life! Bunty takes action by booking a ticket to ride back in time using Professor Gonsalves’ time travel machine, to a period during the 70’s when his parents were unmarried. He attempts to re-write Kishan and Mala’s doomed destiny and transform their disastrous arranged marriage into an affair of the heart. His mission is to convert his father from a shortsighted, nerdy wimp with greasy hair into a handsome, bouncy-haired stud and eligible bachelor; and his mother from a feisty tomboy to the epitome of feminine grace. His next task is to achieve the impossible – make them fall in love with each other and persuade their feuding parents to agree to their marriage!
